The Life

Mr. Grey???

In the fantastic process of applying for a mortgage we find out a small little glitch that may throw the whole thing off.  What’s that you ask?  Apparently yours truly had a recent late payment on a credit card still listed in my maiden name.  In the end it was chalked up to a “bank error”, thank you to all the kind representatives that I shed many tears to these past few days.  However it definitely took the wind out of our sails for a moment.  And we are still not out of the storm.  I am not going to get excited about said “dream house” until I am actually in it.

That being said…one of the many conversations/me being scolded about being irresponsible ended with my husband saying:

Change all your cards, change your drivers license, change your social security card, change everything.  You are no longer Danielle Martin.  You are Danielle Gambino.  You are mine and I will not allow these mistakes to happen.  From now on you don’t know Danielle Martin.  You are to move forward as my wife in your new name.  No questions asked.

I have to admit I was taken back.  My husband and I go at it of course, but this was new.  Having him speak to me like that kind of threw me.  And I have to admit reminded me quite alot of Mr. Christian Grey.  You know you read the books.  Don’t be modest.  Just as I started to enjoy the lecture…

Well we had to evacuate the room.

You can figure out why.

I don’t believe Mr. Gray ever did that.  Daydream halted.

The Life

Juliana Lucia Gambino

My little bundle of joy.
Mini. Or as everyone else calls her, Juliana. She arrived at 5:59 pm June 21,
2011. A scheduled c-section due to the fact that she refused to be carried
upside down in – utero and insisted we were kangaroos for 9 months. I tried to
convince her that I was not her mama kangaroo but she wasn’t buying it. However,
I would pick my hair blown, make up done, 5:15 c-section appointment over water
breaking in bloomingdales, rush me to the emergency room type delivery anyday.
And you all thought I would be into that sort of thing I bet. Mini was 7lb 11oz
and when I say bundle of joy I mean it. I was handed a blanket with a head
sticking out of the top. I vaguely remember my OCD fanatically clean neatfreak
husband asking if she had been bathed. Yes Mike, in the time it took them to
wrap her and pass her over the gurney, she was sprayed down and doused in baby
wash. Men.
The moment they handed her to me was a startling one. I mean, I
knew what was going to happen. I had 9 months to prepare and I WAS prepared. But
at the same time I was becoming a mommy, I was laying numb on an operating table
and I needed MY mommy. Strange feeling. I realized your never to old to need
your mama. Even when you are a mama.
Enough hospital talk. We will revisit that when I have the next babe. Whenever that will be… My poor belly is still recovering from Mini and it’s been a year.
A full year! She’s been out almost longer then she was in. The rate of growth is incredible in the first year. And she seems to have such a great personality. She can turn the charm on and off like a light switch. Just like her mama….

The Life

It Begins…

My name’s Danielle.  I decided to start blogging as way to document life and
share my world with the rest of the
world!

A little of my background…Ok. I’m 26. Married to my best friend.
We have the most amazing baby girl ever. Ever. Unless she cries for absolutely
no reason. Not so amazing then. Her name is Juliana, but I refer to her as Mini.
Try to keep up. Don’t get confused. The hubs is Michael. Mike. Mikey. Munch.
Poodle Pie. Lollipop Pumpkin. Sugar Dumpling. We are in love. Go with it. Dating
since I was 18. Married December 2010. Yes that is together 7 years. You
mathmatician. Yes it is a lifetime. One I would never change of
course.

These are a few of my favorite
things…
Eating: Anything. And all the time. I ate like
a prized pig when I was pregnant. And a whole year later I am still going
strong. No longer eating for 2. Just a much larger me.
Drinking: Love my cocktails. Mimosa brunches. Wine
dinners. And vodka…well vodka whenever. Vodka is my favorite.
Couponing: Became my entire life when I was
pregnant with a husband that works a million hours and couldn’t enjoy a
cocktail.
Cooking: Because naturally that comes with eating.
Family: Because just when I thought I had a big crazy loud
family full of brothers and sisters…I get married to an ITALIAN. And now
family has doubled. Double the people. The fun. The dinners. The babies. The
drama. You can imagine. Or if you can’t..keep reading. And last but not least…
Shopping: After quite a hiatus I am about to  revisit this intense love affair. X100.
