Our 2nd Annual Mother & Daughter Valentine’s Tea Party

I am so excited to share the details of our 2nd annual Mother & Daughter Valentine’s Tea Party with everyone!  Remember when we had our first tea party last year?  You can see all the details here.  We brought our tradition all the way to Birmingham and invited all of our new friends!

Just like last year, we kept it super simple.  Little tea sandwiches, mini muffins, donuts and cupcakes, Tazo passion tea, raspberry princess lemonade and champagne of course!  Mini helped me out in the kitchen this year.  She put her apron on and got right into it.  She was so excited to plan the party and invite all of her friends.  The morning of the party, I woke up at 6:45 to find that she had already “set” the table for tea.  She laid out plates and gave everyone a muffin.  Ha!  I had to break the news that the party wouldn’t be starting for 4 (very long) hours.  Poor girl stood by the door waiting for her guests all morning.

The girls had a blast decorating mini cupcakes with all sorts of toppings.  Chocolate chips, sprinkles and m&ms.  Then of course they ate them!  They picked out the little sandwiches they wanted and all had some yummy pink raspberry princess lemonade.  Let me say one thing though.  7 preschool girls can make a whole lot of noise.  Wow.   After they ate they all played dress up and put on a show for the moms in the living room.  It was pretty funny to watch them fight over the microphone and then stand up in front of everyone and not sing a word.   Oh to be 3 again…

I love this tradition we started and it made me so happy to see her get so into it this year.  I can only imagine next year she will want to help plan the menu.

We hope you had a great Valentine’s Day!  XO
